    My head's a carousel of memories... the spinning never stops.

    - Posted using Mobypicture.com

    Out of the blue, Candy Man asked if he could be my baggage next time I went home.

    Random questions about my childhood from close friends. People wondering why I haven't told any of you my story yet. {shrugs}

    iTunes keeps spitting out the music of my childhood: Manilow, Carpenters and Strait.

    And now... my food is shaped like Idaho?

    Fine. {dramatic sigh}
    I'll look up plane tickets.  Afterall, its only been 4 years.

    Hey you… your nostalgia’s showing.

    It’s hard to believe how little I use my computer having cancelled my internet. I rarely have it on even for music. With my newest endeavors, which I will soon share, I am finding myself needing it more and more. I’m even considering playing nice with Comcast and turning my internet back on. Realizing that I may soon be joining the 21st century again, I’ve started organizing files and folders on my hard drive. Wow… I’ve got some picture uploading to do.

    I stumbled upon this set taken April 11, 2009. J’s birthday. There really isn’t much of a story here, except I had been bothering him for 2 years to go to the Amana Colonies in Iowa with me and of all days he suggest, he chose his birthday.

    J is one of very few people who truly appreciates my interest in packing up and moving out for a day. We’ve made a couple random day trips, and I’ve enjoyed all immensely. This one and the Agora trip, stick out the most in my mind, though. Perhaps it’s because it’s the newest, but I honestly feel it was the timing of the trip. The ease of pressure it lifted and the hope it restored. It was the first time I had my friend back in a long time.

    We left around noon and headed east. He drove. We made a couple stops along the way; The World’s Largest Hillbilly Gathering… I mean, Truck Stop and in Utica for lunch. It took us over 4 hours to get there… mainly because we were taking our time. And for the first time in a long time… enjoying the company of one another.

    Come on! How can you say no this? {giggles}

    6 months later, I still don't get this plate.

    To this day, one of my favorite videos of J!

    We pulled into one of the Colonies and made our way to the brewery, where we learned the shops were all closing in 30 minutes. We laughed, grabbed our cups and headed outside. I never appreciated beer, let alone dark beer until I met J, so I was excited to experience theirs again. It was pretty awesome… and we were quickly on our way to “goofy”.

    He is hilarious and so silly sometimes!

    Once we finished there, we wandered up and down a couple streets. We furiously snapped pictures. Random buildings. Our goofy faces. Perhaps, it was simply to prove we were there… but I knew where we were, whether physically or emotionally, was a place we both were mostly likely never going to be at again together. We made our way back to the car and I drove us home. We were in Amana an hour at the most and in the car for nearly 9 that day.

    As 2009 nears its end, I wanted to share with you a day I will cherish always. It astonishes me how even after all we have been through and the distance we have travelled from one another, how we can still manage to find our way back to center and look back laughing.

    If you feel so inclined, please blow my mind.

    PISCES: February 19 - March 20th
    It's all beautiful today -- your love life should be in bloom! If you're single, now is a good time to communicate with someone you find attractive, even if it's all online. Things heat up fast!

    hmmm... what an interesting horoscope. I've been sitting on a little adventure I took recently. I keep starting and stopping the posts... maybe one of these days I will spit it out and tell you about my weekend away... this reminded me of it.

    Escape to thought...

    Traveling solo is the only time I am ever on time. Ask anyone that knows me... they will tell you I am perpetually late for everything. I hate it. Hate it. But not once in all of my travels have I ever been late. I casually stroll through the terminals sipping the nectar of the Evil Empire, watching the show. I love airports. I truly do. I love watching the interactions people have at the gates... the joy, the sorrow... the frustration of the hurried parents. Airports are one of the only places I have found where everyone's vanity is checked at the front door. No emotional guards... just sweat pants and oversized sunglasses. Reality. Raw. Love it.

    I always feel like I am forgetting something though, because of the ease and calmness at which my travels take place. I do always double check the wings, though - you know... runaway circus clowns or that damn Chucky doll. Creepy times. One of these days something is bound to happen. It always does to me - worst luck ever. Worst. As we take off, I feel the slow release, albeit temporary... the sweet, slow release of stress, tension... all the fucking drama.

    Nothing left, but a mental and emotional void. [yawn]

    ...to be continued.

    ...and found.

    I'm feeling very nostalgic right now. I've been trying to find my center a lot more these days... however, I'm open to the idea that I am just getting old.

    In Branson, I discovered a long lost love. Country music. I know already... you think it sucks. However, it calms me. It's the strangest sensation. Really. I went through all my old music files and pulled out all the twangy tunes I could get my hands on. I'm not sure how or why the obsession began, but I was 12 years old. My friends were into Green Day, Nirvana, The Offspring..etc. Garth Brooks was more my speed. I would put my Walkman on and sing at the top of my lungs as I went about my chores. I still do that. Honestly. Please do not sneak up behind me during one of these singing fits... I'm oblivious to my surroundings while plugged in. I pack a mean punch. Ask J.

    So, I've gone back to my roots and I'm waving my freak flag here. I know. I should get a new one... this one is tattered and worn. I have a question though... recently, I have discovered that people actually read this thing. Go me! So, to those in attendance, what do you listen to when you are reconnecting? What associations do you make with the melodies? I had a great friend once, the best anyone could have, that would sit with me until all hours of the night and dissect all of our favorite songs searching for deeper meanings within them and ourselves. I miss that. And him.

    More importantly, I've realized I am missing, heart- aching - missing, too many key players in my life. Where did they go? Oh... that's right. I pushed them away. Go me.
